sketch ala Sujean ♥

Hello,

I always wanted to learn how to draw and sketch, about a couple of years ago, I started to learn on my own how to. I asked (and okay begged) my brother, cousin and friends to teach me too, and I always ended up drawing hearts and apples haha! Oh and I am also good with flowers too!

About a year or so ago, i stumble upon this beautiful and talented lady named Sujean and fell inlove with her drawings (mostly in water colours) so I tried, attempted and willed to sketch and draw... and to my surprise... ooh la lah! *wink* haha =)

The posted drawings I have here are copied from the works of Sujean Rim, a very talented lady from New York.

So my sweet readers, Feast your eyes (wehe) and if you are not satisfied, go and have a look at Sujean's works... you will be awed and fall in love with her creations too! =) but if you are awed by my drawings, well thank you very much!

She inspires me so much on this aspect, and I am thrilled and honored to meet her even via an online social network (that most of us are addicted to (sounds guilty!)).

Wishing you sweet and creative inspirations each day...

timeless treasures...

Hello loves, I am pleased to introduce you to my new companion in writing...

The good old pal typewriter I named - tender letters

When I was a teenager, I used to borrow my Dad's typewriter to write my poems, letters to my best friends, short stories and all those sorts of creative writing stuff...

But we lost the old pal to a flood in November 2000, the flooding of November 2000 brought so much devastation to our home... we lost a lot of the valuable things that my parents work so hard for... and all my work including our good and reliable typewriter was lost.

Last December, I was telling my husband that I may be able to buy a second hand typewriter from BooksActually... when he suddenly remembered that their family has an Olympia which no one uses anymore, and he will ask his sister if they can give it to me =)

Alas! His lovely sister agreed and have prepared Tender Letters so we can bring her back to Singapore...

Now I can write new adventures with tender letters... and share notes of more timeless treasures with you all =)

Have a tender and lovely evening.

Loves,
darelammy

oh, what Joy you bring...

Christmas here you come again...
The time of the year which I always spend pondering on the days;
When I cried and laughed, broke and healed, loved and hated and loved again.
The days went by I didn't noticed, until the breeze smelled sweetly like warm cocoas and honeys.

You know, we dont have pine trees but plastic trees sufficed.
Adorned with charms of red and gold, with smiling angels or a star of North.
The streets are filled with your colours, red danced with green and yellows lit up the blues!

I pulled out that old sweater, as you kissed my cheek with your cool breeze.
But you never fail to lift my spirits as worn out socks warm up my cold feet.
Oh, Christmas I thought you have forgotten to come.
But then you came and oh what joy you bring!

Mister, Mister!

Today is someone's birthday! *wink*

It's my huntor's 13th birthday (hubby - mentor) hee hee! He is King for a day... well he is the King in the house of course =) and this post is dedicated to him.. I think this is the longest post I've ever written.

We celebrated his special day throughout the whole weekend.

We agreed to go to 3 places, where we both liked to go to...
Please note:he was not forced, bribed nor eluded to go to these places okay? hihi

Since we both love vintage, books (okay books only me) photography and japanese food we went to places that has all those lovely (and yummy) stuff.

Day 1, 11 December: Our first stop, Books Actually via Chinatown!

We went there to see Shinzi Katoh's featured art works and designs, books (of course!) and the vintage typewriters and cameras and other memorabillas

When we exited the Chinatown MRT on the way to Club Street where Books Actually is, we were greeted by eye catching items and this little guy here made me smile =)

Cheap but true goodness, amazing colors, including christmas colours. The Reds and Blues and Greens and Golds and hot Pinks were all around us... Christmas is in Chinatown!... and I have not even started to hang a single christmas ball at home (what a shame...)

Where's my Christmas Spirit?! you might ask...

But really, I am just waiting for the icing to settle from Mister Huntor's cake and I will be starting to embellish the whole house with Christmas charms! *wink*

Shophouses with coloured shutters of blue
and yellow lined up the alleys

and red lanterns hung above the street that added to the festive splendor at 32 degrees!

Our next stop was at PEEK to check out the new and old lomography cameras, the holgas, the legoholgas, the superheadz and some polaroids too...! well I have no photos to share on that but you can visit, their site anytime to check it out =)

And then we got a little hungry... and walk over to Cityhall and then to Sakae Sushi for our Sushi parteh! We waited in line to get seated at the sushi belts, but to our dismay, no more sushi in production... we ended up eating the usual teriyaki don.

I felt like going back to Ann Siang Hill and sit at one of those coffee shops painted in red or Parisian inspired... but it's a looong walk back! so Teriyako-don it is!

Day 2, 12 December: We went to church early in the morning to give Thanks... for a blessed day and a blessed life.

At home, I cooked some spaghetti (his favourite) and brought him a little cupcake with a little candle and a small birthday present.

The feeling is just lovely, even though the girls are not around to share this happy day with us... we feel so blessed to be celebrating together and to have such lovely girls.

Hope you're feeling lovely each and every moment.

IMPOSSIBLE

Nothing is impossible.
There was a project led by former polaroid employees to revive the polaroid instant films, it's called "the IMPOSSIBLE Project" ... thanks to them for saving the last polaroid production plant... if not for them I wouldn't be able to use my polaroid camera, and it would be so sad because I grew up with this type of cameras... shoot 'em like nobody's business hehe *-.-*

So I can say again... Yes, nothing is impossible and domo harigato to mr. Yamato (hehe) for delivering the goods tonight! My first batch of Impossible's PX600 Silvershade films has arrived. It's so rare to be receiving a package in the evening. Imagine... I have been literally checking our mailbox everyday for my

(impossible) polaroid films, who would have thought it would be delivered intoour doorstep in the evening? who? Who?

Hee hee!

And so... Franko (my polaroid camera) and I are going to have some great, cool fun.

Thanks to my handsome and ever reliable cameraman for the cool fisheye photos.

I will be drooling all night haha!

Best,
DarelammY
