A Sunny Sad Day

Hot as it may seem
A sunny sad day today
News of loss and grief

Traveled through online
Traveled through but still too late
To comfort the pain

Warm embrace is lost
A touch and kiss will be missed
Though memories stay

Will search through and through
But still one will never find
Sunny days to share

Hearts kept from breaking
Tears kept from falling away
A sunny sad day

The Fearful Dreamer

And the dreamer sleeps,
With tears and fear in her heart
Silence fills her world.

Forgetting sadness.
Forgetting pain and weakness,
As the night deepens.

Midnight came so fast
She lay with a trembling pain.
Will sleep come again?

She sees shadows round,
Ghosts rush with the wind abound,
Oh Endless nightmare.

The sun then rise slow.
Brightens the sky and her world.
Dreamer fears no more.

What am I up to lately?

Yeah, yeah, it's been a while!

Whew, no pages as promised, no new projects what's goin' on Darelam? Well to answer that, I have been very busy with a lot of things, one in particular is day dreaming... hehe, just kidding, the past couple of months have been like a whirl wind... zoomed in and zoomed out. I have been completing some pages and some projects for a couple of friends, (one getting married) the other one is just a spoiled brat wanting some handmade from moi.

But, I have on very important goal, I hope not to miss, and that is the Made With Love Design Team call. Yep, I had the guts to sign up!

But geeesh the deadline's on the 23rd... can I make it to deadline?

Let's wait and see!

A Pause

I have been addicted... I admit it, I am.
And now it's time to pause.
Time to stop. For a while? Or longer? Who knows.
I pray for strength... to resist, to refrain.
But will I ever lay a finger, at least a finger again?
On my passion... on my craft.
But it's time for a pause. For a year? A month? A minute?
It's time... cos' my wallet's sick.

My First Kenner Road Kit

This paper love are pieces put together from Kenner Road's April Main Kit - Central Valley. Except the gaffer(?) tape and buttons. The photo was taken last Yuletide with me luv - lubitel 166B. Savvy?

Praise be to You

My Morning Prayer for Today...

Inspired by "A word in Season" by Pastor Benny Ho's CD that was loaned to me by a brilliant mentor.

Here I am, I humbly present myself to You.
I lift up to You all that I am, all that I have and all that I lack in this life.
For You alone can provide all these things that I need.

The healing.
The peace.
The love.

It is You I seek. Do not turn away from your servant.
Let me not turn away. run away. shy away from Your Love.

Let me sense your presence always, in my heart be the warmth.
In my mind be the wisdom.
In my body be the strength.
In my life be the light and joy.

Shine on me.
Praise be to You.
Peace be in me.
No one can touch my life like You do.

There is none like You. Let me rise again in your love.
I lift up to you...
The pain
The fear
The worries
This Life, is yours take it and nourish it again.

Here I am waiting and longing for you.
Do not hide your face from me, do not let me be blind.
Shine your light and be the abundance in me.
Take over and lead me on.
Praise be to You and to You alone.

Some old Angel cards...

Oh, I am quite nervous about this, as this blog is my first blog solely created for my paper art love, all handmade. Inspired by the everyday beauty around me.

I hope you will enjoy looking at some of the Angel greeting cards I made for some of my friends and colleagues... these are the cards I made few months ago, but no time to post, the photography sucks here hehe.. here you go...

I used a handmade embroidered angel bookmark that I was able to buy from Times Newslink store with some prima flowers and leftover stickers and pearl buttons. This is the card that I made for one of our colleagues, his first baby girl just arrived and he all got excited seeing this card. I hope you are too!

I fancy these little loves..

The one below is the first angel card I made, hee, I love these embroidered angels so I hoard and hoard and add them to my cards as beautiful a centerpiece.

The 3rd one's for a my friend Mavic, I love the doily on the background, which Ibought from the local fairprice grocery store, very cheap I think it's for only 80cents. It's a priceless background for this card *wink*

And finally... Jo's Birthday Card! Photo courtesy of SSGN (aka Cecilia) they're both my sweet Amigas!

Let me know if you'd like to have one and I will make something special for you too.

Thanks for stopping by, your as sweet as a tootsie!

Kisses,

Tim Gunn's 10 Essential Wardrobe Elements

The only fashion Guru I listen to is my mom... but then Tim Gunn comes along *woooooT!* I saw his TV show last night (Tim Gunn's Guide to Style) and got all inspired to do some inventory on my wardrobe again, and I found this site that featured his wardrobe tips, which I am also sharing with you today. The basic must haves for any women's wardrobe is in that list.

So here's the best wardrobe tips by Tim to top all wardrobe tips, hee! Hmmn... but I have already heard some of these tips from my mom too (like the little black dress, CLASSIC... oooh but i love it! must remeber to go back to my fave store, or hit the net and take a peek at Anthro or UNIQLO), I call my mom the "Gucci Girl" and she's still is :-)

Now go do some wardrobe inventory, then shop and have fun.

A sweet Thursday to you, pop like a daisy!

Kisses

The Ten Essential Wardrobe Elements as devised by Tim Gunn are practical pieces around which you can build your wardrobe. Tim Gunn is the star of a reality makeover television show on Bravo called Tim Gunn's Guide to Style. He became well known from Bravo's hit TV show Project Runway, where he counseled contestants on their stylish creations.

The Ten Elements are mostly classic pieces, but what's important is whether they fit you properly, are not outdated, and bring out your best features. The following is the shopping list of Tim Gunn's 10 essential items, with helpful hints from this article's author. If you would like more advice from Tim Gunn, read his book A Guide to Quality, Taste and Style or watch his show on the Bravo channel on Thursday nights.

1. Basic Black Dress - The basic black dress has been around for a long time. It is often called the "Little Black Dress", and it's true that shorter skirts on the basic black dress, when they hit you in the right place, can be more flattering than a long black dress.

2. Trench Coat - The trench coat is one of the pieces that is both classic and currently a hot fashion item. Most any store sells this piece now. It is great for fall and you can pick it up in a wide range of lengths.

3. Dress Pants - Although it doesn't say black, this is probably what you want to look for. Black is flattering on all figures and goes with everything.

4. Classic Shirt - The white shirt is a definite classic. But it can also come in many different styles to make it look trendy and not dated or like a man's piece of clothing. Find one that accentuates your best attributes and minimizes trouble spots. For example, if you have wide shoulders, stay away from large collars.

5. Jeans - Everyone has a pair of jeans, but does everyone have a pair of jeans that make them look great? The wider leg, low-rise jean style has been popular (and still is) but a narrower leg is coming back along with a higher waist, which eliminates the unflattering "muffin top" look.

6. Any Occasion Top - Find something you look great in that can look respectable under a jacket but bring on the fun after hours.

7. Skirt - If you need dress pants then you also need a skirt. A skirt is womanly and can be flirty or businesslike. Nowadays women do not wear many skirts or dresses, which makes a lot of them fall into a rut of dressing sloppily or like men. See number 8.

8. Day Dress - Women also are not wearing as many dresses anymore. It was certainly liberating to go from the '50s when women wore dresses every day to wearing more practical pants for gardening, exercising, and so forth. But the dress does not have to be abandoned altogether. They can be very flattering, and there is nothing wrong with "dressing up" for daytime.

9. Jacket - A jacket does not have to be masculine. Find one with a proper, fitted shape. Women's jackets should follow the silhouette of a woman's body and accent the hourglass curve at her waist. It is also a perfect piece to put with the skirt or dress pants, and white shirt. Or make it casual with a pair of jeans.

10. Sweatsuit Alternative - As mentioned before, women wear fewer skirts and dresses these days. But some women have taken casual to the extreme and spend days on end in sweatsuits. It is possible to be casual and comfortable without looking like a slob. Find a comfortable material (that's why this doesn't say jeans again – denim is not as comfortable as a nice soft cotton) that you would want to wear every day. It could be khakis, cords, a cotton dress, or much more.

Bonus: One Indulgent Trendy Item

(In the second season, the Jacket replaces the Blazer on Tim's list, and the Any Occasion Top replaces the Cashmere Sweater.)

Now comes the fun part. Go shopping! Use this list as a basic guide to forming your wardrobe. When you want to have fun with new styles and colors, try it in your accessories: purses, shoes, and jewelry.Read more: "Tim Gunn's 10 Essential Elements: Must-Have Basic Wardrobe Pieces for Any Woman Suite101.com" -http://womensfashion.suite101.com/article.cfm/tim_gunns_10_essential_elements#ixzz0EmzREQRn&A

Thank You

How can I thank you?
There are no words.
Your sincerity, purity, humility.
All characters of nobility.
In a strange world, sometimes filled of people with cruel intentions.
Deceit, unfairness and false promises.
You stood by.
Like a lamp post in a winter storm.
Like a candle.
Like the gentle humming of a mother.
To a child with a heart so deeply troubled.

How can I thank you?
How about a song? You brought back calmness to this soul.
You are an inspiration,
Like a persistent lover to a poet whose words were lost in doubt,
Like a crooner with a sweet voice.
Not the noise of the daily life.
Not the gossip that buzz like the flies.
But a whisper that frequently reminds
That there's a silver lining beneath the gray clouds at night.

How can I thank you?
An embrace? A kiss or simply a smile.
An unspoken promise of friendship.
For no words could ever do justice
to describe your kind heart,
to describe this feeling of happiness that you brought back to this life.
You are like the rainbow, reminding me of a bond.
A bond that would never be broken by any pain nor suffering.
A bond that stood the test of times.
Another unspoken promise is delivered to me through you.
And no words to describe this feeling now, so I simply say,
Thanks to you.

At 30...

This is something I wrote that I have forgotten to post... may we always find inspiration in everything and everyone around us.

At 30...

Yes, i have turned 30 today, the 3rd of March 2009. A big change has come to my life, since I got married 3 years ago and gave birth to our little love a year ago... I thought the new chapter in my life began there. But somehow it ended there and started anew just a month ago... and a month ago it seems that my world is falling apart. Everything is dark around me and I literally cannot think straight.

I have fear, a deep sorrow in my heart. I scream alot for peace in my mind... and began to grope for air... I realised how precious breathing is and then began to find my faith again. I cannot regret anything behind me that has led me to this day. I cannot let the past haunt me forever though... I must let it go, let it all go.

the 30th year in my life, I learned to count my blessings... the kisses I receive, the sunshine, the dimpled angel beside me... and the calloused hands that hold me. I am wholeheartedly thankful for this day. This evening just before the simple dinner party with my family, I asked myself... will I be given another 30 years? Or 30 more days? But I know the answer is beyond me, I just have faith that no matter how many dark chapters come, I know there will be hundreds and hundreds of pages written of hope for me, for this soul.

I know i will be continued to be blessed in this life, may I be a blessing to everyone too.
I am thankful for all the loves in my life.
I am thankful for you.
and I am thankful I had the chance to turn 30.

It's Your Birthday Today

And so you pray in the morning for a lovely day.
Your baby greets you with a smile at 8am, it feels like she's telling you mommy you look lovely today.
Although she cannot talk yet, the eyes of the little angel lights up when you kiss her sweet dimpled cheeks.

It's your birthday today and so you receive a lovely message from your husband,
Reminding you how sweet the day is and a gift is waiting on the bed.
Lazy bones and sleepy head over the pillow, you close your eyes again instead,
Remembering his sweet thoughts over and over in your head.

It's your birthday today so your alarm clock rings again, you remind yourself to start the day with a smile and not with a sigh or a heavy feeling.
You started to stretch and yawn and pray again.
What a lovely day! You thank the Lord, for the air in your lungs for the joy in your heart.
You thank Him for the wisdom and courage and the great feeling.

It’s your birthday today and you begin to live and laugh.
You look ahead not with a sigh, not with a grave heart. But you look ahead with a promise of love.
It’s your birthday today and so you order pizza, mom cooked salmon.
You say grace, look around the faces that love you, and smile to yourself; what a lovely day to be born!

Bloom

Like flowers in spring bloom with sunshine and rain
Even if the storm hovers over it will just pass again and again.
Bloom like wonder in a child's eye seeking life with answers.
Even if the road is going down hill or up hill they run ahead with cheer.

Bloom like the gardenias, white and pure and humble
But spreads a sweet scent of love and promise in a life full of gamble.
Do not shy away from a kiss of a friend or a lover
Welcome them like lovely roses in summer.

Bloom with the mountain spring that quenches a deer's thirst
Or that of a lion always ready to strike first.
Bloom like the blush of a lady in love
Or like a gentleman's hush in the ear of his dove.

Bloom and do not be afraid to wither
As you fulfill your purpose in summer
Winter will come and let you rest
So that in spring you'll bloom again at your very best.

Walk With Me

Walk with me

And see rainbows sprung from a cloudy sky
with promise of sunshine and butterflies.

Walk with me

Like sunrise in the horizon
bringing colour back from your sleep.
Rest your head on my shoulder as the day time bring the heat

Walk with me
On pebbled roads, grassy lawns and dusty lanes.
Until raindrops flutter and bring coolness to the earth again

Oh walk with me

While in troubled times and let me take your hand in mine
I may not carry the burden for you,
but there's always a promise of a rainbow and hue.

At 4:00pm

At 4pm your mind is wondering what's next?
It's a monday and you're waiting for the blues to sink in.
Shall you go home early today? Jog around or take your baby out to play?
There are so many things that goes on in your head, songs, thoughts and worries of dread.

Stay calm, stay calm you thought to yourself, its just 4pm.
Waiting for the hour to pass til you can say it's 530 at last!
Time to see the faces you love and ease the pain of a stressful job,
Time to wave to your monday goodbye and look forward to a better day

As 4pm goes by you're wondering to yourself, will I ever get thru this hour?
but 530pm is just 'round the corner.
