oh, what Joy you bring...

Christmas here you come again...
The time of the year which I always spend pondering on the days;
When I cried and laughed, broke and healed, loved and hated and loved again.
The days went by I didn't noticed, until the breeze smelled sweetly like warm cocoas and honeys.

You know, we dont have pine trees but plastic trees sufficed.
Adorned with charms of red and gold, with smiling angels or a star of North.
The streets are filled with your colours, red danced with green and yellows lit up the blues!

I pulled out that old sweater, as you kissed my cheek with your cool breeze.
But you never fail to lift my spirits as worn out socks warm up my cold feet.
Oh, Christmas I thought you have forgotten to come.
But then you came and oh what joy you bring!

Mister, Mister!

Today is someone's birthday! *wink*

It's my huntor's 13th birthday (hubby - mentor) hee hee! He is King for a day... well he is the King in the house of course =) and this post is dedicated to him.. I think this is the longest post I've ever written.

We celebrated his special day throughout the whole weekend.

We agreed to go to 3 places, where we both liked to go to...
Please note:he was not forced, bribed nor eluded to go to these places okay? hihi

Since we both love vintage, books (okay books only me) photography and japanese food we went to places that has all those lovely (and yummy) stuff.

Day 1, 11 December: Our first stop, Books Actually via Chinatown!

We went there to see Shinzi Katoh's featured art works and designs, books (of course!) and the vintage typewriters and cameras and other memorabillas

When we exited the Chinatown MRT on the way to Club Street where Books Actually is, we were greeted by eye catching items and this little guy here made me smile =)

Cheap but true goodness, amazing colors, including christmas colours. The Reds and Blues and Greens and Golds and hot Pinks were all around us... Christmas is in Chinatown!... and I have not even started to hang a single christmas ball at home (what a shame...)

Where's my Christmas Spirit?! you might ask...

But really, I am just waiting for the icing to settle from Mister Huntor's cake and I will be starting to embellish the whole house with Christmas charms! *wink*

Shophouses with coloured shutters of blue
and yellow lined up the alleys

and red lanterns hung above the street that added to the festive splendor at 32 degrees!

Our next stop was at PEEK to check out the new and old lomography cameras, the holgas, the legoholgas, the superheadz and some polaroids too...! well I have no photos to share on that but you can visit, their site anytime to check it out =)

And then we got a little hungry... and walk over to Cityhall and then to Sakae Sushi for our Sushi parteh! We waited in line to get seated at the sushi belts, but to our dismay, no more sushi in production... we ended up eating the usual teriyaki don.

I felt like going back to Ann Siang Hill and sit at one of those coffee shops painted in red or Parisian inspired... but it's a looong walk back! so Teriyako-don it is!

Day 2, 12 December: We went to church early in the morning to give Thanks... for a blessed day and a blessed life.

At home, I cooked some spaghetti (his favourite) and brought him a little cupcake with a little candle and a small birthday present.

The feeling is just lovely, even though the girls are not around to share this happy day with us... we feel so blessed to be celebrating together and to have such lovely girls.

Hope you're feeling lovely each and every moment.

IMPOSSIBLE

Nothing is impossible.
There was a project led by former polaroid employees to revive the polaroid instant films, it's called "the IMPOSSIBLE Project" ... thanks to them for saving the last polaroid production plant... if not for them I wouldn't be able to use my polaroid camera, and it would be so sad because I grew up with this type of cameras... shoot 'em like nobody's business hehe *-.-*

So I can say again... Yes, nothing is impossible and domo harigato to mr. Yamato (hehe) for delivering the goods tonight! My first batch of Impossible's PX600 Silvershade films has arrived. It's so rare to be receiving a package in the evening. Imagine... I have been literally checking our mailbox everyday for my

(impossible) polaroid films, who would have thought it would be delivered intoour doorstep in the evening? who? Who?

Hee hee!

And so... Franko (my polaroid camera) and I are going to have some great, cool fun.

Thanks to my handsome and ever reliable cameraman for the cool fisheye photos.

I will be drooling all night haha!

Best,
DarelammY

Oh Lorie...

Hello...

Today my Mom turns 21! Haha, yeap... she likes it when we deduct a huge number from her age.... she still feels and looks so young and pretty... still vibrant and fun loving.

Unfortunately, she is back to the Philippines with my girls and so, we can't celebrate her birthday together... I would have given hear a huge bear hug!

I am sure they're having a fun time back home and I am missing her cooking, her pasta and my brothers' famous barbeque and the ice cream!

Anyhoooo... me and my love is going out to celebrate her birthday by visiting a bookshop down at Singapore's Orchard road... will find something for mom and then head home with some cupcakes!

Have a lovely birthday Mom...

letters to my daughters...

Hello... *-.-*

Do you keep a journal? Not a diary but a journal where your thoughts on things, places and people are kept?

Me, at the moment... I have a couple! ;-)

The first one, which I began to keep last year is called "writing adventures". I like to give titles to my journals, because I like to theme them, the "writing adventures" journal is all about my adventures and misadventures with people and places... and where sometimes I answer questions from people, that I think are hard for me to answer in person. So I write about them =)
And then just this year, I started another one, I called it, "letters to my daughters"... you might be wondering why at their age right now (Alphie is almost 3 and Noa Stina is almost 1 year old) I am writing a letter to them when they can’t even read?

Maybe I am just impatient, I can’t wait for them to grow up before telling them about the things I see, and feel, and admire, hate or love. There is no better time to tell my feeling s for them and the advise I want to give them, but now.
So, in this little journal, I write to them, and my heart speaks to them thru ink and paper.

Most of my journals are written in MS word documents and saved in my personal computer, if I have my old typewriter I would write thru that, but that old fella’s been long gone, swallowed by a flood back in year 2000 (that’s another story for another day). While I am very thankful to the technology we are all enjoying, I still love penned letters… so after writing them on my PC, I pen them down in my notebook.

Mr. Mister gave me a new journal, he brought as present for me from his trip to San Francisco, he knows my weaknesses, and so I immediately fell in love with this little pretty notebook! [yes, it's the lovely notebook on the photos].

The new home of my letters to Alphie and Noa Stina.

I hope they would enjoy reading those letters as much as I enjoyed writing them.
And that they will be patient enough to make out the words even if their eyes hurt from reading my penmanship [tee hee].

Hope I was able to inspire you to write too using the good old pen and paper. Pour your thoughts out to a loved one or a friend… =)
Happy writing!

Saints and Souls

Hello November,
Do you remember the faces
Of friends and loved ones who have passed?
Now off to the gates where the Saints flock,
And off to the place where the sun never hide behind the clouds.
They ride the winds yet without wings,
And angels gather round for them to meet.
Oh sweet November, do you remember the faces?
And the epitaph of friends and loved ones written in stones.
Whose names are carved in our hearts and their memories are never gone.
Now off to the place reserved for only the very best.
Off to the place we are all called to rest.

these are the few...

Hello, I have a question for you... "how many favorite things do you have?"

I have lots of them! Pearls... paper flowers, coffee, my camera... my girls... and, "ang pows"! with plenty of cash, hihi =)

Well... my list is endless!

And I think, pearls and paper flowers go well together.

So tonight, I've decided to make some thing out of the things that I like... alot of these materials have been sitting around, I feel sad, cos for a long while, I haven't made some time to work on them...

Below's my version of the "ang pow"

Here's the front...

And the back...

Hmmn for info... Ang pows are the chinese envelopes where they put some money to give during birthdays or special occasions...

And some really special occasions are coming up in the family soon! =)

I can't wait to make more of these... and receive some too! ;-)

Cheers to special occasions!

It's Time for Noa Stina

It's been a while, isn't it?

I am soooo excited to finally start the first year album for my Sweet Stina... she's turning 1 next year in February but the celebration will be early. We will celebrate her 1st year in December, both she and Alphie will have their birthday bash together! It will be lots of sweet fun, don't you think?

First I need to get started... there are so many photos to choose from, it's so hard which ones to put into the album as they are all looking pretty. (wink)

I miss doing this for my girls... =)

favours and returns...

Today, I returned from my 8 week maternity leave, i enjoyed it so, so much despite the sleepless nights, little Noa has grown so much (close to 5+ kg now...) ... and
I say thank you to colleagues who are close to my heart. The favours weren't able to arrive on time for the first month greeting of Noa Stina at the office, so I decided to make it to up to them extra special by bringing the favours myself on my first day back to work...

I embellished the minicakes (from emicakes)with some handmade tags and of course some Daiso bags... yummies... lovelies!

I love giving back... returning all the love there is :-)

Something for a Friend

To a faithful friend...

You are like a song, mellow in tune,
Like a sweet kiss to a leaf from a dew.
Like a faithful lover, a brave dreamer
Time tests you through and through,
Cuts you and tears you away from happiness.
But you stand firmer oh and all you endure.
You believe in me when I was in doubt,
Shared with me His abounding Love.
I thank you for your faith in me,
You prayed for me endlessly.
Now this prayer I say for you,
May your heart be graced with love always,
And like a sweet little butterfly,
May you find your own flower someday.

Love,

Noa Stina's First Month Favours

We are celebrating Noa Stina's first month today, and we have come up with the idea of giving back all the love to friends and colleagues thru some minicakes (from emicakes) and some handmade card tags with a shot below *^-^*

As you know I am busy with sweet baby Noa so It took me 2 nights to create all 18 mini card tags with all the sewing and cutting, but all it takes is inspiration and a little love from the girls... I pair them up with some cute bags from Daiso, hmmn.. wish I could show the photo of the finished product, but my handsome cameraman run off with the goods without taking the souvenir pics, anyway there's always a next time.

I took some photo using my iphone.. hehe... blur right? I will try to have a more decent photo next time (wink). If you like them up close or would like to have me make one for you do let me know... :-)

Hugs,

Darelam

Happy Birthday Alphie!

Happy Birthday Swits!

We celebrated Alphie's birthday last Saturday though her actual birthday's on the 7th and I have put together her guestbook for her, at least one item was handmade by me... the rest we put together based on fun ideas... greens, pinks, winnie the pooh cake and some balloons... all were as lovely as Alphie!
