Back to December
Hmmn... the cool wind of December is here. Looking out at the street of Oxford, London... lights are everywhere, shops full and crowded! See my sweet Chi chi here striking a pose.
I hope you can feel it. In the air is where Christmas is, in our hearts and in everyone that we love.
I can't wait to put up the ornaments in our cozy little home, I have an old tin can full of Christmas embellishments, and I can't wait to pull it out from the store room... better check the store room when I'm back, must be lying beneath the unused items and boxes.
*Sigh* I will miss Christmas in my hometown again this year... oh well, it's everywhere anyway, don't you think?
So, welcome back December, I have been waiting for you all year long...

The Package Project & My Clever Partner
I joined this cool project by cupcakecouture and I am very excited to start the package exchange with my lovely and very talented partner (drum rolls and trumpets please!) Carin of http://www.handinherpocket.blogspot.com/
It's not that I haven't got enough projects on hand that I want to delve into one more... but this project is much more fun than analysing data. Hee hee
What's exciting about this project is that we will get to share and exchange items of our interests, home town mementos, hand crafted items and handwritten notes. I love receiving and sending out pretty packages and since I am still working on my own blog shop (of the future hehe) I might as swell start by practicing on sending out some lovely stuff now.
I can't wait to prepare and put the package together for Carin and get to know her better... I know she is as excited as I am to start this project. I am looking forward to my first package! And I Hope you would find the inspiration to send something handmade out to a friend, a loved one or to someone who simply needs some cheering up.
Enjoy your Monday and kick out the blues with some package love!

Letters To My Younger Self: On Luck
Dear Younger Self,
I read somewhere that today (11.11.11) is a lucky day. Stars are aligning I guess to bring people more luck, I am not so sure whether that’s good or bad luck. Anyhow, I just want to remind you that no matter how bad or good your luck goes; never forget that you are blessed.
How are you blessed? You might ask.
Well for one, you are here.
You got clothes on and probably even with matching shoes, you are blessed with talent in writing, and interpreting weird dreams. You partly own a typewriter (the blue one’s bought by your dad) that you can use to write letters for your best friends (see? you’ve got people you call best friend), or write a script for a short home movie about cats or your next-door neighbor’s elicit affairs. You are here and you are free, free to choose to do things your way and choose whether to finish them or not. You have a mom you can argue with and then compare nail colours afterwards, not that you wear nail polish, but that's a possibility of a good memory to keep. You might not have won the lottery (yet), yes, but that doesnt mean you're unlucky, maybe you have never bought enough tickets in the first place, remember lottery is like a popularity contest, you must hoard them tickets to win.
So if you ever come across an article about how dates could bring you luck and come across people that could scare you to death about it... don’t panic. Breathe and look around and in you. No ornaments, magical powers, even re-arranging your furniture 8x per year could ever change the course of your fate. And again, no matter how good or bad you luck is; it always comes with a blessing of experience, new seasons, new best friends and probably a new typewriter that you can call your own.
Keep on moving forward and count every blessing, let the dates help recount these things for you. And enjoy whatever 11.11.11 brings you.

Cozy Halloween
Who said that the eve of Halloween can't be that lovely? Hello there, I spent the evening arranging flowers with the help of a pair of little clever hands. We lit some tea candles and enjoyed the beauty of our expertly arranged flowers over a warm cuppa.. and a bottle of milk! hee hee
My little Alphie helped me sort and place the flowers in this sweet white pitcher vase I bought from Ikea a couple of weeks ago. Forgive me for the poor resolution of the photos, as I only took them with my ever reliable iphone camera.
In our small way, we offer flowers, candles and prayers to loved ones who have passed away. In my hometown, Halloween and all souls' and saints' day are a long celebration, a national public holiday that draws families closer in remembering the dead and celebrating the feast of the Saints. Families would spend the whole day (even through the night) in the cemetery on the eve and the day of Halloween, having picnic as they gather around the tomb of their deceased.
When I was young, we dont get to do that as much as we want to, because we live quite far from where our deceased loved ones are buried, so we would just stay home and help our "nanay" (grandmother) arrange flowers, light the candles on the doorstep and enjoy her home cooked "meriendas" (desserts, pastries). We will share ghosts stories and listen to some from our nanay. Well, nothing's changed much now though, even now that I have my own family, I still don't get to go on picnics at the cemetery on Halloween... but I still get to arrange flowers and offer prayers although there are no more meriendas prepared by my nanay, I get to do all these in the eve of Halloween with the sweetest person in my life.
I hope you find peace and joy in your celebration, and may the spirit of Halloween bring you good memories and only the friendliest ghosts! I will try to post some horrible photos about halloween tomorrow if I can, haha *^_^*
Goodnight.

Nights Full of Magic
The wand of the wizard has been waved and cast a spell of wonder upon these beasts, now they're able ride above the clouds and kiss the stars. They may peek through your windows so please don't forget to say hello to my sweet friends... the magical ponies!
Hee hee! Hello there friends, and so we are ending the month of October with a bit of cheer and chill, don't you think? We start off with Halloween, yes? November's just around the corner bringing us more of those pixie dusts and old tales of ghosts, and magic. The wind is a bit chilly in my hometown by now... how I miss welcoming the "ber" months (from September thru December) with my sweater, old pair of socks and hot cup of coco or coffee! It's so nice to sit on our front porch at this time, with the buzzing mosquitoes, the huge moon hanging up the beautiful October sky and the dusty old guitar in my arms...
Some of you may be wondering where did these ponies came from... I've got them from Mc Donald's happy meal - My Little Pony collection! My girls love the happy meal toys and I particularly like this set that came out this 2011. Too bad they've ran out of stock, so these are the left overs from the collection... I wonder how many are there. I would love to collect all of them...
I used the wonderful iphone photo apps on these photos... it added more magic to it than I've expected. My girls really enjoy looking at them, well I hope you do too. And my the "ber" months give you more than magic, but joy and remembrance of both the sweet and not so sweet times of your life. Most especially do not forget to start making a list! Christmas is bursting with excitement to greet you after November's done with its share of magical nights.
And I am off to bed... but here's another pony for you my dearest, who ever you are, may your dreams bring you positive thoughts and inspiration for the remaining days and nights of 2011!

Paul
There are moments that I long to spend with you, I wish you had stayed.
That night you fooled everybody; you said you’re studying late.
But boys will boys and they run at top speed,
Not knowing the danger of foolishness in their young years.
I long to lay on the grass with you again, like we used to, just looking at the clouds and dream.
But night falls and you’ll never be home again, how long has it been?
The last memory I have of you is the last time we held hands.
You said you wish we grew old together; maybe our kids will also be friends.
I long to see you again you know, but you are way up in the air.
October has come; did my balloon reach you this time? I always wonder.
Sometimes I do wish you stayed out of trouble, you could have called me instead.
You know I will find time to be with you. But as you always say, there is no room for regret.
There aren’t many boys in this world like you Paul.
No one admires my unruly hair like you do.
And despite of all these years you are out of sight,
My heart remembers you.

Remembrance...
Hello my sweet readers, how have you been?
I have been busy with a lot of things at work, and have not the opportunity to post much. Hope you had a fruitful September month yourself.
So today, I just want to share that October is one of the memorable months for me, it is the month when I said yes to becoming the girlfriend to my Mr. Mister, and one of my best friends' birthday month.
This month brings both joyful and sad memories back... I wrote a very short poem about remembering people, of where they used to be in our lives and how we take for granted their presence...
it wrote:
"dusk.remembering...
It is only when one is gone that another remembers; the one who seems to be everywhere, seems to be constantly there.
One cannot remember instantly the other; when they were there, when they were everywhere, constantly."
May your memories and thoughts be filled of the most joyous, and may the painful thoughts not linger and grow into sadness in the depths of your heart.

On writing...
We don't need to have a degree in writing to write,
Just a little whisk of inspiration, a cup of imagination, a spoonful of glee and a drop of tears.
Really, anyone can write just as anyone can cook. But not anyone could write a really good book.
For most they are there to enjoy and read, the words the writer spreads.
But nonetheless write, a note of love or poem of goodbyes.
Whatever the method you use, no matter what style you choose.
Begin a story and tell a tale, or simply doodle your mind away. Pen every word you want to say.
Write, write, write!

{Weekly Assignment} A Life Story Collage
Hello my sweet friends! ♥♥♥
Here is a piece of my life in a simple collage for the Raining Umbrellas e-class' weekly assignment.
Here I am and I bare my self, my life to you... these are some of things I enjoy doing and people that are very, very, very dear to me. They are my life line, my pulse.
I find joy and beauty in them and out of the many things and people that come and go, I wish you would find inspiration and joy too as you turn each page of this blog.
And thanks for your warm greetings!

Florencia
For the best cook in the family, she is now waltzing on the clouds with her beloved and singing songs only angels could hear...
We listened to "kundiman" on the lazy afternoons...
We sewn love by our hands and pour out our emotions in the broth,
Her hand was hard as iron but her heart was ever so soft for her apos
Thank you Florencia, my Nanay.

Beauty in the Ordinary
Just at dawn I saw you sitting silently with your companions.
While the leaves dry out towards noon...
I walk slowly past you and watched you glow.
All day you pray without ceasing, until finally came a new beginning.
Such a small wonder spread its beauty under the piercing sun,
Then came a soft drizzle to cool your cheeks as you lay on the ground.
I am forever left with awe and wonder, thinking that maybe magical creatures live among your flowers.
As the wind blew across the meadows, you sat still under the sleepy old tree with your companions...
My eyes may forget you today, but my heart will always hold the sweet memory of your glow.

Paramour
I like the word Paramour, it's one of my favorite words aside from "um" and "hello" hee hee! This beautiful and intriguing word both have negative and positive meanings, depends on how you use it and look at it. I use this word to describe how I would do and achieve 32 things I am passionate about... my goals, my family, dreams and wishes!
Before I proceed my lovely readers, let's look at the etymology of this word for a moment ♥♥♥
Paramour is a French word or phrase that means "to be involved in an affair, or a love affair" oooh... sounds intriguing isn't it? while it literally means from the Middle English, from par amour, by way of love, passionately, from Anglo-Norman : par, by (from Latin per; see per1 in Indo-European roots) + amour, love (from Latin amor, from amre, to love).] ... and I assure you my dear friends that I am totally inclined into the latter meaning!
So let's get back to the real subject here, shall we? I have listed down 32 of my goals, wishes and dreams in my journal, I am serious in making them happen, and "by way of love" I am going to do them... here are some of the 32 wishes, things and activitites on my list, there are more but that's for another time:
1. Eat Right- there is nothing more important than being healthy! How can we do all the things that we love if we are sick? We need to be out and about =) and for the sake of our loved ones... we must be fresh and healthy... I know you very much with me in this... so let's keep healthy and stay beautiful inside out ;-)
2. To give and send out pretty packages wrapped with love and sweetness:
I need to open up the online shop of my dreams and start working on the orders... please please please, Lord let me have the time to organise and and create and start that small small step into making this dream true...
Also, send out all those handmade gifts to friends and make them smile a little more ;)
3. To send out handwritten notes and letters
I miss sending and receiving hand written notes! Really, it's been ages since I receive and send out one, so this year I will make sure to send out hand written letters to friends and love ones... I sincerely apologise in advance if you would have a very tough time reading them though, but surely it will be worth it!
4. To Sew & Craft... I love sewing, my "nanay" (grandmother) taught me how to sew using both my hands and a manual sewing machine... so I am reviving the old ways of creating thru sewing... it takes time but I know I will make some!
5. To go and discover places and meet people
May it be in the local botanic gardens or back to Manila, I must go and explore a place and meet people ;-) life should also be about discovery... so that's what I am going to do, of course most of these activities will be done with my sweet Mister and cute girls =)
6. Wake up to beautiful mornings! and the ugly ones too =) Well to be honest I am not a morning person, but I do have the habit of waking up as early as 7am during weekdays and 9am on weekends! Haha but because of my sweet girls, me and the mister must be up when they are!... but really, they said early to rise, makes a person healthy, wealthy and wise... have to be early to bed then. Now that's another challenge
7. To write, write, write!
In anyway possible.. I must write! Whether in this little blog, in my journals, in my hand written notes, I must write it all down baby =)
So many things to do this year... I hope this will be another fruitful, inspiring and lovely year for all of us.
May you always find time to do things that matter to you with the ones you love. Send penned letters, travel the world, meet people... eat right and do everything par amour!
Have a lovely day!

My Secret Garden
I am sucker for flowers! ♥ Yes I am...
Hello my sweet readers, today's post is dedicated to the jewels of spring... Flowers!
I love them all... from the wildest of kind to the sweetest of breed!
I used to have a small collection of roses back home in Manila, I plant them... admire them and they never fail to soothe my spirit, keeps me feeling lovely all over.
It is a bit sad that there isn't enough places in Singapore that sells many kinds of roses and blooms... my favorite spot to buy fresh cut flowers here would either be at Cold Storage or at the local market... it may cost from 80 cents a stem up to 2sgd! Goodness gracious me...
But each week or two I try to buy a bouquet or few stems of these sweet lovelies...
They grace my dining table and bring cheer to my sweet little home of love♥♥♥
I am starting to work on some terrariums and marimo plants... in case I have no enough dollars to buy some fresh lilies or gerberas.
One of my goals for this year is to always have flowers to grace my home... pom poms, lilies, roses... sunflowers, and pretend I am in a secret garden where my handsome lover would meet at midnight.
Their colours refresh me and just lifts my spirit... so may you have the time to stop and smell the roses (or flowers) today. May the wonders of this lovely creation fill you with glee always.
Happy Spring!

A time for Japan...
I have never been into your arms Japan,
But across the seas that separate us, I feel your warmth and comfort.
From the view of your alleys lined up with the cherry blossom trees,
To your picturesque shores, hills and valleys.
I only get to see your beauty on TV shows and free calendars,
But time is yet to allow us to be together.
I admire you from a far my dear Japan,
Wished I could be there to breathe your air,
Swim the pools of your cozy water,
And taste the authenticity of your culture.
You inspired me to express love and sadness in Haiku,
And somehow taught me to bow when I say thank you.
Your grief may last for years Japan,
But in my mind I will only see a beauty so everlasting.
My heart grieves for you, just like a child to a weeping mother.
I yearn to hold your hand while your tears wash away your trauma.
Though the miles keep us apart, I will send you prayers,
And light a candle through your darkest hours.
Rise again Japan, rise.
For out of the storm is always the sun.

L'anniversaire de l'amour
I just love anniversaries! Don't you?
The memories of love and life together of a couple, who through the years have prevailed and withstand the tests of time... just makes me fall in love over and over again :-)
Well, my sweet readers, today me and the handsome mister will be attending a 10th year wedding anniversary celebration of a new found friend (at least for me) the Mrs. is my new found friend =)
During Alphie's 2nd birthday celebration last year, I met this lovely woman, who had become a friend and a fan (to my creations) and so today, I will come out of my shell and attend their party. I usually am very shy and uncertain going to parties but today, I feel I should go out there and mingle *wink, wink*
As I do not have an oven to bake them some yummy cake, I have decided to make the a card instead... =)
I hope they like it as much as I liked putting it together. It was such bliss, although I didn't have much time to design.
So folks, I leave you with one wish before I end this post... that may your anniversaries and celebrations be filled with joy and love, and be stronger as the years pass.
Love more!

Love more!

Wisdom
As I celebrate becoming 32, I recollect and reflect on the things that brought me peace and taught me wisdom from the past year.
The year that was was a struggle for me; to remain still, to listen, to wait, and most of all to love in the most unconditional and simplest way. But then again time tested my wisdom, and without faith we lose our wisdom, hence we lose our peace and joy.
I always ask this question, where does wisdom really come from? Is it from the experiences? From the older loved ones and people around us? Or is it from deep within? Last year, I have made some decisions in fear of not being able to provide for my family, I failed to search for the wisdom, I failed to listen. What I thought was the right move, the right moment, took away my peace... and for the rest of the year I was always worried, tired and confused.
And so this year I am determined to listen and find wisdom and as much as I could to avoid making impulsive decisions.
I am not a very religious person nor do I have the habit of reading the Holy Bible, but on my birthday, I felt I need words of encouragement, divine words of encouragement. So, I picked up a book I bought for my self sometime in 2009, this book was by Joyce Meyer - "Hearing From God Each Morning" to somehow check if there is anything that would helo me answer my questions.
On my birthday the word for the day from Joyce's book was about "being open to hear a fresh word from God each day"... I am not so spritiual either but I can say that there are times when I needed to talk and complain to Him, he somehow answers me back... I dont realise that soon enough but I feel it after the dust has settled. Over the years, these answers come to me in a dreams or thru someone. or something that I would thought would be able to deliver His message.. and it's funny but in my mind I will say to myself, "okay I get that God, now I understand".
So this year, my ultimate goal is to always find and have wisdom in my heart and in my mind. To learn to listen and be still. In whatever I do, there must be wisdom in it, may it be crafting, writing or taking care of my family.
I know this year will also have its own set of struggles and tears, disappointments, laughter and happiness. But with wisdom, I know I will always have the right amount of peace and joy in my life.
I am just thankful.

Julie & Julia et Writing!
Today morning, I saw this movie - Julie & Julia... I was fascinated how these two women were inspired to write. For Julia she wrote a cook book out of passion for food and cooking great food and to share the passion across cooks and women in America who may never be able to go to France and taste French cuisine, and women who don’t have much to spend for cooking lessons. And for Julie, a writer at heart who found the inspiration to pursue a dream, a calling... these two women inspired me today on my "B" day to look back on the day I began to write and how I fell in love with writing (and reading, and creating, and cooking!), and reflected on what inspires me to write and to pursue a dream.
What drives me to continue to write penned letters despite of my ugly handwriting, and to continue writing and sharing on this little blog in the little corner of the web... to share and learn and maybe somehow, in return... inspire someone out there to write and dream and pursue and prevail!
But first, I want to ask you this question my sweet readers (whoever you are, if there is any out there)...
How do you write?
A poem? A letter... or lyrics to music? A prose, a novel or even a blog?
What inspires you to pick up that pen or open you word office tool in your pc and start typing?
As for me, a little history on my writing... I started to write when I was in grade school, yeah you might say I first learnt to write my name... sure that counts! But really wrote something creative and out of inspiration began when I was in fourth grade. I wrote a letter to my mom, as she used to always travel for work, I used to write to her or make a card for her... while I was writing on her birthday card, I noticed that the words just seem to rhyme... and that is when I discovered, I can write poems and love writing poems!
We had a small library at the public school I went to and every week I would volunteer to help clean or stack the books at that library so i could get free hours reading poems and nursery rhymes and short stories and literature. I continued writing letters to my mom, to my friends from the many different schools I went to and to my cousins. The prose, the verses I read inspired me to write and write and write.
In high school, I joined the school paper "The Clarinet". I was in my first year, I focused more on writing poems, our English teacher introduced us to writing “Haiku” and I was addicted! I continued to write in college, for a college paper I was in the creative and features section. My dad, gave me his typewriter so I could have more time to write my short stories and poems... until slowly withou going unnoticed... the computer age came.
No more typewriters or penned letters, the internet age has taken over the missives we used to send via the snail mail... there came the sms or text messaging... and admittedly, i did stopped sending penned letters and I have neglected writing for a time... I was so busy with my work, with some other things in my life and forgot about that passion. But I never lost the habit of keeping a journal... yes despite all that techno influence, I still write from time to time in my dusty old journal... kept underneath the bed or at the bottom of my closet. I may have forgotten about writing but I didnt lose that passion.
I may not be as dedicated as Julie or Julia, but I can proudly say... I still write and able to... and promise to never lose that passion and make time to write... either a short note to my Mister or in my journal dedicated to my daughters. I will write.
So I encourage you sweet reader, whatever it is you want to pen down... do it. Whatever method. Whatever style.
And oh, it's fun to write with a good cup of coffee and a slice of cake!
I wish Julie is here, I would love to taste that delicious beef bourguignon =)
I also love to cook for my mister, but that's something to write for another day...
Happy writing!

Oh hello March, we are 32!
oh hello March, you have come!
You brought me flowers, cakes and balloons.
Summertime is your season just like spring, we hop and dance and flutter our wings.
All month long we will celebrate, although I will be spending days and nights with the solitary moon.
Your soft breeze will hum along while I strum with my constant companion,
And labor with me while I sew them buttons.
oh hello March, you have come again.
I welcome your wishes and the rain now and then,
While I spend rainy days pouring thoughts on my tea cup and brewing coffee like creative ideas.
We will wait for the Easter bunnies to come and bring us chocolates,
And for good news to come knocking on our doorstep.
oh hello March we are 32!
The year that was may be rough and old, but with faith we have seen it through.
Our journey together was bittersweet, but warm little hands hold me tight while on the ride.
And now, it's time tol cut ribbons and slice some cake, and start to sew our dreams, send out hand written notes and pretty packages.
We will take on our journey with small steps and continue to give thanks and find joy in the smallest of things.
So I toast to you and to the path ahead, but first let's blow the candles and breathe our 100 wishes!

Belladreamer, Bellacaprichosa... Bella.
Hello, by now you may know that I love to decorate and make pretty things, well at least for me they are pretty so I keep on making them.. lately I have been pondering of what new projects to work on this year, and so I have been sharing my thoughts to my little brother...
[photo grabbed from Mel Araneta's dreamcatcher album]
I told him I would like to make dreamcathers and tiny terrariums out of old bottles and light bulbs...I think both would be sooo relaxing to do... but first I am learning how to do both. So, he introduced me to his friend Mel Araneta, a brilliant artist and he makes awesome dreamcatchers!
I will be sharing the results of my studying and decorating and designing with you, wish me the best of luck.
I am also venturing into designing and making pretty accessories, inspired from my fave accessories shop Accessorize... so much to keep me busy already.
I am filled with joy that my hands and their works are truly blessed.
Be blessed as always and enjoy your lovely Sunday my sweet bellas =)
Loves,
Darelammy
